Mucosal Integrity Testing: A New Diagnostic Modality in GERD and EOE

Mucosal alterations are the hallmark of chronicity associated with GERD and EoE. Current diagnostic tests rely on short term strategies which may not be optimal in accurate diagnosis and ultimate therapies in these conditions. Recent advent of the novel mucosal integrity testing allows providers to assess mucosal changes associated with GERD and EoE and establish the diagnosis at endoscopy within one minute. In this presentation we will discuss the scientific merit of this device and studies published in the field to familiarize the audience with this promising unique technique.
